I keep writing theory posts and then deleting them because they are not really that interesting and then I have a ridiculous brainwave. I was going to be talking about the Peter Pan references in Homestuck, equating Serenity to a fairy and therefore Tinkerbelle, with LE as Captain Hook, the crocodiles tick tocking being hilarious, and the fact that because everyone believed in tinkerbelle she was revived because of belief, which is a common thread when talking about pages (of which Tavros, or Pupa Pan, is).
(and smee is described as a man who stabbed without offense, like a certain someone we know of, though the sides are a bit incorrect, just a fun coincidence)
But when I was looking to see what Serenity had been saying in morse code, because I wanted to double check something, I got what could possibly be another idiotic brainwave but also kind of creepy and interesting.
At least have this food for thought:
There are multiple examples of Vriska being equated with Tinkerbell, with Tavros being Pupa Pan, the boy who will never grow up in Neverland. We don’t actually know where Vriska and Tavros are right now, but it might be interesting to surmise that they are actually in Neverland, in a place where they will never grow because whoops they are dead.
Tinkerbell is often portrayed as a spot of light in the Peter Pan plays, and fireflies are often considered to be what people often mistook for fairies. Strengthening this argument is the morse code dream that WV had— Serenity is replaced in the dream by Vriska (who continues to blink as Serenity had but with her own typing quirk). She’s even called a fairy by Terezi and leaves a trail of special stardust (which a box of ends up in the Calliope/Caliborn base)
(on a stranger note, Gamzee throws special stardust in his face and his faygo “flies” out of his sylladex)
Vriska uses Special Stardust on Tavros and tries to equate the story, and fails miserably because she knows fuck all about Pupa Pan, but it’s interesting to note that she acted as John’s Tinkerbell, providing him with the necessary tools to live forever and to fly and to fight against Captain Hook/Lord English. John even collected some lost boys— WV and Casey both followed him around.
When John went god tier there were fireflies everywhere, and I don’t think it should be overlooked that Serenity is also a firefly— these fireflies are what I can see as the only example of having a secondary life form on a planet other than the denizens. They must have an importance of some sort.
Vriska’s aspect is light which is also what fireflies give off so that’s a fun sort of combo effect. I’m getting tired so I’m kind of losing my train of thought.
I had other ideas about how Vriska and Tavros could be controlling serenity and how Vriska could possibly be Serenity with her link to John as Peter Pan and her as Tinkerbell or even how Tinkerbell is revived by people BELIEVING IN FAIRIES.
I just want Vriska to come back ok.
